The "Cognitione" Foundation for the Dissemination of Knowledge and Science was created by its founder, Dr. Hab. Anna Ujwary-Gil in 2015. The Foundation is a legal entity certified by the National Court Register number: 587704, issued on 25 November 2015 by the District Court for Kraków-Śródmieście in Kraków, 11th Commercial Division of the National Court Register.


The main goals of the "Cognitione" Foundation are:

  • Scientific, research and innovation activity related to entrepreneurship as well as education, based on conducting various research programs, and the dissemination of knowledge and science in the field of social sciences, humanities and IT.
  • The support and development of scientific and research potential, and the functioning of entities in the environment.
  • Promoting cooperation between science and business.


The Foundation pursues its statutory goals through:

  • organizing conferences and scientific seminars aimed at researchers and doctoral students. It is also allowed to organize events encompassing a wider group of recipients and specialists in various fields;
  • conducting scientific, research, educational, publishing, exhibition or training activities within the scope covered by statutory objectives, as well as directed at the development of innovation and entrepreneurship;
  • improving the competences of the Foundation's members and the development of the Foundation's research and development potential;
  • organizing and participating in scientific, educational and other events in accordance with the statutory objectives of the Foundation;
  • editing and publishing the scientific Journal of Entrepreneurship, Management and Innovation (JEMI) numbers: 2299-7326 (Online) 2299-7075 (Print);
  • the organization of a scientific conference for those employed in science and business people, entitled "Business and non-profit organizations facing increased competition and growing consumer demands";
  • editing and publishing post-conference proceedings for "Business and non-profit organizations facing increased competition and growing consumer demands";
  • participating or cooperating in undertakings, consistent with the statutory objectives of the Foundation;
  • running scholarship and training programs for academic, academic, scholars, youth, volunteers and specialists in various fields.

Foundation's management

Dr. Hab. Anna Ujwary-Gil – Chairman of the Board


Professor of the Institute of Economics, Polish Academy of Sciences. A Doctor of economics in the field of management from the Warsaw School of Economics and a Scholarship holder from the Foundation for the Development of the Education System in Norway. She is also the scientific editor of several monographs, and the author of three books and many articles in the field of knowledge management, intellectual capital, business models, and organizational network analysis. Since 2011, she has been the founder and editor-in-chief of the international scientific Journal of Entrepreneurship, Management and Innovation (JEMI). In 2010, her book entitled "Intellectual capital and the market value of the company" and published by CH & Beck in Warsaw, received a prestigious academic prize in the "Monographs" category awarded by the Polish Academy of Sciences. She was a project manager at the National Science Center SONATA and researcher (experience researcher) of the 7th Framework Program of the EU in the international project Marie Curie Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways Program (IAPP). For over fifteen years, Dr. Ujwary-Gil has been the organizer and scientific editor of the Employee Conference of Science and Business, organized every June under the recurrent title: "Business and Non-profit Organizations Facing Increased Competitions and Growing Customers' Demands", which are published in the series of peer-reviewed monographs abstracted in the Web of Science.


Dr. Natalia Potoczek – Vice President


A Doctor of economics, a sociologist, she is a scientific consultant and expert in the Laboratory of Process and Network Analysis for the Foundation for Dissemination of Knowledge and Science "Cognitione". As an editor and reviewer, she works for the scientific Journal of Entrepreneurship, Management and Innovation (JEMI) and actively works for the transfer of knowledge between science, business and the public sphere. She has completed several scientific internships in enterprises, participating, inter alia, in projects run by the Małopolska Regional Development Agency. It implements scientific, consulting and teaching projects: in cooperation with the Małopolska School of Public Administration at the University of Economics in Krakow; and the international conference: "Business and non-profit organizations facing increased competition and growing consumers' demands" with the Institute of Economics of the Polish Academy of Sciences; and on behalf of JEMI with the Systemic Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences as part of the conference "New concepts of process modelling and the implementation of process management". In her research and consulting work, she combines knowledge and many years of experience in two research areas: Business Process Management and Human Resource Management. The last research project funded by the National Science Center ended with a monograph entitled Human resource management in a process-oriented organization, published by the PWN Scientific Publisher.
